To increase your memory it is essential that you improve your skill of attention and focus. You need to have to master the skill of focusing and giving full attention to the subject in hand. Following are few tips to help you improve your attention which will ultimately help you increase your memory which will result into more mental fitness in your case:

A little exercise to do to improve your attention -

Turn your attention upon some uninteresting thing and study every detail until you are able to describe them. Try to ZERO-focus on it. It may seems boring but do it for the sake of exercise. Let you mind focus 100% on this thing.

This will seem boring or tiresome at first but you must stick to it. Do not practice too long at a time at first; take a rest and try it again later.

You will soon find that it comes easier, and that a new interest is starting to manifest itself in the task.

For example, pick a flower. Touch it. Smell it. Feel its texture. How many petals does it have? How long is the stem? What is the color and shape of the petals? By doing this simple task, you will be surprised at the quantity of little things that you will notice.

This method, practiced on many things, in spare hours, will develop the power of voluntary attention and perception in anyone, no matter how deficient he or she may have been in these things. Begin to take notice of things about you: the places you visit, the people in the rooms, etc.

In this way you will start the habit of “noticing things,” which is the first requisite for memory development.

Who says little bit of Sense of humor is bad for heatlh! Why some crippy people want to impose ban on good and light sense of humor. No i am not talking about bad manners or raw stupid offending humor. I am talking to light, fresh, natuaral sense of humor to bring ease and fitness to your mental health.

Hard working hours in today’s competitve world are needed and can be boring and stressful. It can be enjoyable with just little sense of humor and inner weather can be very pleasant after a little witty comment or joke. Yes good smile and laugh is going to reduce the burden your mind may have due to long working hours.

It has been reported that some poeple actually die while working on long hours jobs, not because of any work-load, but because of intense pressure that became too much for their hearts. Laughing can ease pressures, put sense again into winning, and make you human again. Too much work turns you into a robot and degenerates into nothing more than input and output. It is suggested you watch some comedy or spend some time with your jolly freinds or coworkers to have a good laugh to really stay healthy both physically and mentally.

Rest and recreation for your emtionally and physcially healthy body are as importat as healthy food and deit. There is very famous old quote that is: All work, and no play makes everybody (not just Jack) a dull boy or girl.

Do not let this happen to you. In today’s world where there is more and more mental work to be done, your mind and body really need some rest and recreation. It is suggested you take small breaks in between your stiff work rotunie.

Hard working both physically or mentally is good, but equally important are rest days to let the body recover from muscle sprains or injuries, and to let the mind and soul recuperate from pressures.

In fact, some executives say doing some artwork helps ease the mind after full day rotunie work. (Even if you are not good at drawing or painting, just scribble away!).

It is suggested for a healthy body and happy life that you treat yourself out for a vacation trip occasionally. See a comedy show. Go boating with friends. Better yet, read good books. It will sharpen your mind some more.

Breakfast is the very essential for your body to stay healthy. To stay fit and healthy everybody need a good breakfast to start the day. You just cannot skip it if you want yourself physically healthy and fit.

It is definitely not good to skip breakfast when you start your day. Some people think that skipping meals is a good idea for reducing weight. But contrary to this thought, nutrition experts have found that skipping meals has little to do with weight loss and may actually even do the harm to your body.

They say eating 3 meals a day in moderation (minus in-between meals or snacks) is the answer to effective weight loss, and that moderation means not too much on carbohydrates and fats (macro nutrients), and more on veggies, fruits, and nuts (micro nutrients). Other nutrition experts think that supper could be skipped now and then, or could be limited to vegetables or fruit salad. However, breakfast is the most important meal and must include a balanced diet.

So you learned that breakfast is must for your healthy body. Do not ever skip it before you start your work. Wish you healthy happy life!

The principles below may be applied to every aspect of your daily life: at home, at school, at work, and in your leisure time. Know that memory definitely involves learning, and both are complimentary activities for better survival and achievement in our modern world.

Learners learn from their behavior. Thus, learner errors should be minimized in order to achieve better memory and mastery of skills.
Learning is most effective when correct responses are reinforced immediately. Feedback should be informative and rewarding whenever the response is correct as discussed above regarding memory and motivation.

Punishment may be effective if used but data also shows that it may also inhibit learning than increase learning and memory improvement. It may temporarily suppress an incorrect response, but the response tends to reappear when the punishment stops.

Punishment can also be emotionally disruptive and may become an interfering cognitive dissonance in the process of learning and storing of information. For example, children who are punished for making an error while reading aloud may become so upset and distracted by the punishment that they will commit more mistakes.

The frequency of reinforcement determines how well a response will be learned and retained.

Practicing a response in a variety of setting increases both retention of data and the transferability of these data into other information. This means one may involve a constant rethinking of ideas or imaging the self in a reactive activity (silently talking to oneself in order to elicit conscious response) in order to enhance better thinking and memory.

Motivated conditions may influence the effectiveness of positive thinking and memory and may play a key role in increasing the level of performance in memory retention.

Meaningful learning is more permanent and more transferable than memorized learning. Understanding what is memorized is better than just practicing how to become a good memorizer.

People learn more effectively when they learn at their own pace.

If you want to increase your memory, simly eliminate distractions. Yes, you need to make a habit of eliminating distractions in your life while you are trying to focus on something so you can remember that thing.

Even though you may have heard of multi-tasking, it is very difficult for people to do more than one thing at a time. For example, you’re a law student studying for the Bar Exams.

You wouldn’t be able to absorb properly into your mind what you are studying if your radio is playing loud rock-and-roll music, or if you’re hearing the video games being played by your kid brother.

As much as possible, avoid any possible distractions such as TV, radio, or other people chattering.

Mental fitness is very important for you. It is suggested you think about your emotional well-being very often. Assess your emotional health and energy level regularly. Make a note that how the particular demands or stresses in your life which you are currently facing, are affecting you and your mental and emotional health and fitness.

Give your mind a permission to take a break from your day to day worries and daily life concerns. Realize that spending even a short time daily to your mental fitness will result into significant benefits in terms of feeling rejuvenated, less stressful and more confident.

Here are 10 top tips for your mental fitness:

Day Dreaming – It is very effectie for your mental fitness. Just close your eyes gentally and imagine yourself in a dream location somehwere where there is no more stress or worries you are facing now a days.

For about 2-3 minutes breathe gentaly and deeply. Whether it’s a beach, a mountaintop, a hushed forest or a favourite room from your past, let the comforting environment wrap you in a sensation of peace and tranquility.

“Collect” positive emotional moments – Make it a point to recall times when you have experienced pleasure, comfort, tenderness, confidence, or other positive emotions.

Learn ways to cope with negative thoughts – Negative thoughts can be insistent and loud. Learn to interrupt them. Don’t try to block them (that never works), but don’t let them take over. Try distracting yourself or comforting yourself, if you can’t solve the problem right away.

Do one thing at a time – For example, when you are out for a walk or spending time with friends, turn off your cell phone and stop making that mental “to do” list. Take in all the sights, sounds and smells you encounter.

Exercise Daily – Regular physical activity improves psychological well-being and can reduce depression and anxiety. Joining an exercise group or a gym can also reduce loneliness, since it connects you with a new set of people sharing a common goal.

Enjoy fun hobbies – Taking up a hobby brings balance to your life by allowing you to do something you enjoy because you want to do it, free of the pressure of everyday tasks. It also keeps your brain active.

Set personal goals – Goals don’t have to be ambitious. You might decide to finish that book you started three years ago; to take a walk around the block every day; to learn to knit or play bridge; to call your friends instead of waiting for the phone to ring. Whatever goal you set, reaching it will build confidence and a sense of satisfaction.

Keep a journal (or even talk to the wall!) – Expressing yourself after a stressful day can help you gain perspective, release tension and even boost your body’s resistance to illness.
Share humour – Life often gets too serious, so when you hear or see something that makes you smile or laugh, share it with someone you know. A little humour can go a long way to keeping us mentally fit!

Volunteer – Volunteering is called the “win-win” activity because helping others makes us feel good about ourselves. At the same time, it widens our social network, provides us with new learning experiences and can bring balance to our lives.

Treat yourself well – Cook yourself a good meal. Have a bubble bath. See a movie. Call a friend or relative you haven’t talked to in ages. Sit on a park bench and breathe in the fragrance of flowers and grass. Whatever it is, do it just for you.

It’s all great to hear advice during your pregnancy, especially unwelcome advice. I’m sure you’ve been told by one person or another how to live. Am I right? It only gets worse the further along in your pregnancy you are.

Someone will want to tell you that you shouldn’t bend, or walk a certain way, not to pick up a baby in case you hurt the one in your stomach or put yourself in labor. As the pregnancy gets closer to the due date you’ll be told many different home remedies of how to put yourself in labor.

Old Wives Tales – Little More Fun

Got a headache? Someone can tell you exactly what to drink to get rid of it without any medication, remember it is important to ask a doctor before trying to take something you’ve never tried before doing it. But the most fun I have during the course of the 9-10 months stretch is hearing all the wives tales, also known as myths.

I’m pretty sure you aren’t going to even care at this point what sex the baby is, all you want is for the morning sickness to stop. You may even be counting down the days until the first trimester is over. Chances are if you morning sickness someone is bound to tell you what sex of the baby is. One wives tale is if you are having severe morning sickness is a sign you are having a girl.

Many women claim to suffer from bouts of heartburn during the pregnancy, according to the old wives tell this would mean your baby will be born with a head full of hair.

Right before the end of your first trimester your doctor will listen to your baby’s heart rate, this is to make sure the baby is doing alright. The wives tale goes, if the heart rate is high it is a girl and a low one is a boy.

Ever have someone tell you that you are carrying high or low and wonder what that really means? Basically if you are carrying your baby low it is closer to your abdomen, a high baby is closer to your chest. Look at yourself in the mirror. How is your baby sitting? The old tale says that if you are carrying high it is a girl, carrying low is a boy.

Wives tales can be a lot of fun but keep in mind these aren’t fact. Don’t go preparing your child’s room just because one of these told you, you were going to have a girl.

Staying Fit While You’re Pregnant:

During your pregnancy try to eat healthy and stay in shape. This can help to keep off any access weight. The recommended weight gain for the average, 25-35 healthy pregnancy is 25-35 pounds.

Make sure you drink plenty of water, staying hydrated helps keep the skin healthy. The moment your skin dries out you can begin getting stretch marks.

While there will many people who personally remain in a state of denial as to their own personal anger management issues, there will be those who understand they have a problem but are unable to deal with it.

A common example would be the individual who constantly gets into embarrassing arguments or, worse, fights. Here is a common sad (if not pathetic) example of a person with out of control anger issues: it is Friday night and time to hit the bars.

Without any reason or provocation, “Bob” starts an argument with a fellow patron over something inconsequential. This then spins quickly out of control and Bob takes a swing at the other person.

The fight gets out of control and Bob finds himself spending the night in jail. The next day, Bob is overwhelmed with guilt and swears he will never do it again. Of course, the cycle repeats itself in a relatively short period of time.

While Bob does wish that he could get his anger under control, he is unable to because he does not know how. (Note: the most important piece of the control of anger management control is that the person WANTS to control his anger issues) If the person is sincere in controlling anger problems, then a few basic anger management techniques may yield a positive result.

Anger Management Techniques Work

While it would not be unexpected that there will be those skeptics who feel that anger management techniques do not work, such skepticism is understandable.

The skepticism is not based on cynicism, but rather on the fact that people would prefer to see proof before blindly accepting a cure for one’s ills. This is, of course, understandable.

However, if a little faith is put into some basic anger management techniques and some of these techniques are put into application, then the ability to reap the benefits will be achieved.

Some Basic Anger Management Techniques

Here are a few basic anger management techniques: Keep you tongue in check; try to avoid speaking out of turn and not blurting things out. This may take a bit of practice, but it is worth it.

Get involved with physical activities and exercise as they do a great job of ‘burning off’ excess angry energy. Keep a journal of your progress and note where you have been successful and where you have faltered.

This can greatly improve your chances of not repeating problems in the future.
